Recycled Funk Episode 20 (It’s All About the Blends)

Start listening

I like to put a different spin on popular tunes, so I’m back on my blend game! For inquiring minds, a “blend” is what us oldschool DJ’s refer to as a mix consisting of an acappella and an instrumental/beat of a different track. With DJ technology being what it is today, you don’t really need to have an instrumental to pull this off. A creative selectah can facilitate an instrumental break beat from pieces of a vocal tune, and a couple of the blends done on this mix were hooked up that way. This is the second “blend” mix i’ve done for “Recycled Funk”. Peep the archives for the previous one recorded back in January 2018. I “recycled” a couple of the acappella’s used in that mix, but with different beats. Thank you for tuning in and I hope you enjoy the vibes being showcased here on the 20th episode of Recycled Funk, entitled “it’s all about the blends”, and please stay safe and healthy out here during these difficult days.
