The return of Recycled Funk is here, hence the name of this mix “Revival”. There might be a handful of Recycled Funk fans that have wondered what happened to the show. Well let me tell you.
For the past 5 years I was employed as a full time music teacher at a public High School in the Bronx, NY. As you can imagine it is time consuming work. Add to that the fact that I was a very active working pro DJ at the same time, often working 3 to 5 nights weekly. With that type of schedule something had to give. Not sure how I did it and maintained my sanity and energy but I did. I always put a lot of effort into each episode and squeezing one out just for the sake of doing it never worked for me.
And now the present day. I have quit said teaching position and my full time is once again devoted to my music career as a DJ and music producer. I’m still teaching on the solo/private level, so if you happen to live in the NYC metro area, look me up. So with this revival mix I really just wanted to keep it simple, and keep it funky with some hard hitting grooves. As I get my mix mojo back, expect things to improve in some ways.
