“Another year is in the books. For me, 2022 has been a pretty incredible, life changing year. Thankfully for the better. Unfortunately, Recycled Funk has suffered from a lack of presence while life was happening, but I was able to at least hook up this sweet lil mix to close out the year. I’d have to say that I’ve been digging the downtempo vibe a lot these days. I think that’ll be evident here. And if there’s one group that’s worthy of having 2 slots in my top 10, it’s gotta be Sault. Typically when a group/collective releases more than one album in a year, it feels overdone and/or it’s from a group whose catering to an A.D.D. audience. Thankfully that’s not the case with them! I hope you enjoy these killer grooves as much as I do, and I promise that Recycled Funk will have a better presence in 2023! Happy New Year to one and all…and let’s continue to keep the funk alive!”
