#30thAnniversary – Diamond And The Psychotic Neurotics “Stunts, Blunts, & Hip Hop”

Joseph “Diamond D” Kirkland is surely not the greatest lyricist of the 90’s, but there is something in his laidback approach on the mic that is so addictive that everyone was waiting impatiently for this first album back in 1992. Finally “Stunts, Blunts, & Hip Hop” dropped on September 22, a pure gift for Hip Hop aficionados, with superb production from Diamond himself, with the help of Q-Tip, Jazzy Jay, The 45 King, Large Professor & Showbiz. Previously a member of “Ultimate Force” with Master Rob, Diamond was now part of a new collective named “Diggin’ in the Crates” with the likes of Showbiz & A.G., Lord Finesse, Fat Joe and Big L. They chose their name well because this LP is up there with the greatest sample based albums of the early 90’s production wise, with tons of obscure source material flipped to create greatness.
