Recycled Funk Episode 36

A picture is worth how many words?

Does the cover for this episode of Recycled Funk tell you it was inspired by the changing seasons? Well, it was!

In my mind, I was calling this one Funky Foliage, but I wasn’t completely sold on the title, so I left it off the cover, but if you like it, go ahead and run with it.

With all that said, I was definitely thinking about the seasonal transition into one of my favorite times of the year. What does fall sound like? How do you even answer that question?

I can only tell you what it sounds like to me, and this latest episode of Recycled Funk is my interpretation.

Looking at the tracklist, I hear a collection of funky tracks with a warm yet energized vibe. Some bring a little more energy to the mix, probably thanks to their horn sections, but none of these tracks really scream at you. Check out the previous Recycled Funk episode for a few examples of screaming. : )

There’s also a nice assortment of sounds happening here, which I think adds to the overall feel of the mix. It’s the kind of collection you can keep on repeat when you’re feeling upbeat but aren’t necessarily looking for something that’ll have you bouncing off the walls.

Because that’s part of what fall means to me. It’s a time to slow down a little, take in the natural beauty of the changing landscape, and say goodbye to the summer heat.

So, I guess that’s what fall sounds like to me.

I hope you enjoy listening to this mix as much as I enjoyed putting it together.
