Transitions, that’s the mood of this latest installment of Recycled Funk. Here in NY we are transitioning into fall season. Musically, my taste is pretty eclectic and so I’m constantly transitioning from one style of music to another, but there’s always a cohesiveness to the overall mix, and an underlying theme/vibe. That’s what “Recycled Funk” is all about. Some music lovers only associate funk music with the likes of James Brown, The Meters, Funkadelic. They are the epitome of funk, but not the end all. I believe all popular forms of music have a funk element, whether through sampled material or influence of sound. This latest Recycled Funk mix features elements of Jazz, R&B, Hip-Hop, Funk, Disco, Afrobeat, and Latin vibes, all with a funky undercurrent, and transitions that make a mix of this variety easy on the ears. I hope you enjoy it!
