So the last show for a couple of weeks as I’m off on a holiday to places well away from civilisation to rediscover the art of conversation and a to freak myself out with a largely technology free existence – can’t wait! Dynoo kicked off proceedings this week with a rare beat free, yet atmospheric, opener on the ever excellent Astro:Dynamics label before new shoegaze folktronic outfit Boardwalk got me in the holiday mood with some lazy hazy vibes before Gentlemen Of The Road took that baton but added a bit of drama to proceedings before Quantic & Alice Russell laid down some stone cold classic Latin soul.

Kirkis the provided some great quirky jazz beats from his free to download album which sounded quite apt next to Burnt Friedman’s Germanic dub re-imagining of Brazilian Lucas Santtana. The Betty Ford Boys are a new Melting Pot Music dream team on the block with some nice new material and even better packaging! Jeremiah Jae has just celebrated his move to Warp records with a great free mixtape and we particularly like the Jon Wayne produced “Seventy 8” which paved the way for some greener than green conscious reggae from Mark Professor which marks an auspicious start for the producer, Wrong Tom’s new label, Rongorock.

Ras G has just dropped an album for Brainfeeder which has only gone to confirm my suspicions that his production talents don’t live up to his overall concept and ambitions but there are three tracks on there that tickled us with “Jus There” being one which led nicely into the dark soundtrack vibes of Glass Eyes. Denitia & Sene then dropped the future soul vibes as did Lost Midas, the new LA producer, just signed to Tru-Thoughts. We are absolutely loving the new Afrotech vibes of Pedestrian & Jasperdrum on 2nd Drop and if you have the time go grab the mash up with Fela of this track on XLR8. Deft then provided some great leftfield deep house vibes and King Britt ended the show in deeper than deep style with his Floston Paradigm remix of Natasha Kmeto (big up SonicRouter for the tip off)
