Doing a label special about Gee Recordings is basically doing a show about the music of a master keyboard player and producer, Guillaume Metenier aka Soul Sugar.
After a more recent track as an introduction to his current sound, we go back in time to play some of his first releases, leaning more into funk and soul territories. We slowly gravitate back to the soulful reggae sound we love from Gee Recordings, with amazing covers often accompanied by the “Dub” version, as it should be! Two excellent Jamaican singers who collaborate regularly with the label are featured in the mix, Courtney John and Leonardo Carmichael.
