The Analog Players Society is set to release a new 7″ single titled “Looking for a New Love” today. The follow up to their Hurricane Season in Brooklyn and digital EP, CYK to JFK, this release is a sneak peak into the collective’s next highly anticipated full-length album.
If you’re in town, make sure to catch them at their Record Release Party this Friday at The Paper Box. All the infos here: https://www.facebook.com/
Side A is jazz with a heavy dose of skank as they are reviving the 80’s pop hit “ Looking For a New Love” by Jody Watley. Made in the style of late 60’s ska mixed with late 70’s dub technology all highly crafted for the modern DJ. Side B is a stripped down, dirty, bass heavy, live, analog dub. A sweaty, up close and personal dub that is just what the DJ ordered. You can literally hear the wheels of the tape delay spinning and almost smell the vacuum tubes sizzling.
Also check out the video below, where Amon mixes the track. The Analog Players Society is a collective effort spearheaded and produced by him, featuring a large ensemble cast of musicians hanging around the studio, the likes of which read like a who’s who list of the wide-open Brooklyn music scene as it stands today.
