Dutty Artz Compilation – What Edward Said

duttyartz-compilation

What Edward Said, the first installment in the Dutty Artz 6 Years Deep anniversary series, connects the dots between Middle Eastern, African, and Asian cultures, concepts much written about by the late scholar Edward Sa’id.

Mixed by Ushka and Brooklyn Shanti, it begins with Thai sarama music, weaves in Bollywood and bhangra then migrates west to Palestinian hip hop and Egypt’s underground youth electro-shaabi and mahraganat scene.
