Bizarre Tribe gets Cease & Desist Order from Sony Music

Remember our giveaway to see Amerigo Gazaway a couple weeks back? This guy’s project “Bizarre Tribe: A Quest To The Pharcyde” really got some extra attention from unfriendly sources the past two weeks, culminating in a cease and desist order from Sony Music.

Sony is claiming copyright infringement and has demanded the album to be taken down immediately or face further litigation for damages. Funny thing is Amerigo flipped the original sourced records Tribe SAMPLED, as opposed to having sampled their music directly (which Sony owns).

So in another pathetic attempt of the big players to stay in control, Bizarre Tribe: A Quest to The Pharcyde is no longer available through Gummy Soul Records. If you would like to get involved and help our friends, here’s how:

1. Read and share our open letter response to Sony: “Bizarre Tribe: Access Denied (An Open Letter Response to Sony’s Cease and Desist)”

2. Visit BizarreTribe.com to find out more on how you can help.
