The Underground Roots tour w/ Lee Scratch Perry and Brooklyn Radio’s own Subatomic Sound System is hitting the USA right now (April 12-20, 2015).
Since week 2 of Coachella is just starting, what better way to revive some footage of Lee Perry hailing up the collie & chanting down Bunny Wailer & Snoop Lion. This was just jive from Coachella week 1, 2013, Lee “Scratch”Perry + Subatomic Sound System perform “Underground Roots” with Emch on the mix, Black Ark studio veteran Larry McDonald on percussion, Paul Zasky of Dubblestandart on bass, and the Woman in Dub singers (Chezere & Amanada) holding down the harmonies.
This track is a version by Subatomic Sound System that includes Ari Up (RIP) of the Slits also on vocals and was released on the limited edition vinyl 7″ “Hello, Hell is Very Low”
