May 20th is the day we finally get new material from Tall Black Guy. Raised on a healthy diet of Motown, Jazz and early Hip Hop – Terrel Wallace (aka Tall Black Guy) has established himself to be one of the most influential producers working today. His debut album 8 Miles To Moenart takes in low-slung hip hop, downtempo house and jazz-tinged street soul. Largely instrumental, he’s also added some choice collabs with Ozay Moore (formerly known as Othello) and Diggs Duke, bringing their own unique styles to the melting pot. This record encapsulates the musical heritage of Detroit, through the looking glass of Tall Black Guy’s own signature sound.
