If, like me, you’re planning to take a break from the cold and head down to Miami for the first weekend in February, it’s likely because you got your hands on an All Access Weekend Pass (and hopefully the Deluxe Fan Package) for Dilla Day Weekend, presented by Ma Dukes.
Ma Dukes and The J Dilla Foundation are relocating Detroit’s annual Dilla Day in favor of a warmer forecast to celebrate the life and legacy of J.DILLA®. Events will take place at various locations around Miami from February 5 – February 8. Some of Dilla’s good friends and fellow hip-hop heads are confirmed to perform throughout the weekend, including Pete Rock, Madlib, Talib Kweli, Slum Village, Black Milk, Joey Bada$$, ESTA, Camp Lo and many yet to be announced.
The first round of All Access Dilla Day passes for $66 sold out crazy quick, but there is still a limited number of All Access weekend passes available for purchase here. Ticketholders will have access not only to performances but also panel discussions, BBQs, meet and greets and more. And, if you can swing it, the Deluxe Fan Package is well worth the extra $43.
Make sure to check out Brooklyn Radio later in February for a full event write-up.
(Note: The Madlib show is 21+. All other shows are 18+, but venues may charge a $5 cover for attendees under 21.)
