Milo Mills launched this weeks show with the atmospheric, instellar vibes of “Rocky” which led nicely into the “Lunar Dub” from Dr. Zygote’s nice new EP of cinematic beats on Black Acre. It was then a trip down memory lane for us with some brand new retro rave vibes from the one and only Mark Pritchard with a little help from the Ragga Twins, no less – banging! Yoggyone then mellowed out the rave vibes with his great new single “Windeed”, hyper beats and sweet soul in perfect harmony. The mischieviously named National Jazz Trio of Scotland then dropped the tempo right down with a lovely example of the mellow delights to be had from their great new album on Karaoke Kalk. Now Dope Gems are an interesting new band making a living from covering only the dopest of tunes and they certainly did a good job with “The Ruins Of Britain” from the new Webster Wraight Ensemble album.
He3dless then kicked of the more electronically inclined second half of the show with some great atmospheric bass driven beats which, after my meltdown/technical difficulties was pursued by the more sprawling, spacious sounds of Aebeloe, one of our tips for future stardom. Soulful house vibes of Germanic origin followed from Drei Farben House before Jose James & the ever excellent Hindi Zahra were treated to a rare leftfield house remix courtesy of Falty DL. Titeknots then chipped in with some quality soulful beats due out soon on Tru-Thoughts before Alex Barck ended the show in a truly epic, prog rock, house style no less.
