For the follow up of his successful first album “Father’s Day” on Uptown Records, Father MC was back with a similar formula on “Close To You”, basically creating a new lane between Hip Hop, R&B, New Jack Swing and pop music. Father is a really capable MC with a confident flow, but the subject matters are one track minded, it’s all about the ladies! Most beats are banging, even if the sample choices are not too original, the perfect backdrop to make the people move on the dance floor, which is the main goal of this project. This is not for the “purist”, but it is still an important project in the history of Hip Hop Music.
