Das EFX stormed the Hip Hop world hard when they appeared on the scene with their first single “They Want EFX” and the album release of Dead Serious. At that time, their fast rhyming skills and flow using plenty of “diggety” wordplay throughout their lyrics were unheard of and soon set the stage for many copycats! Group members William “Skoob” Hines and Andre “Krazy Drayz” Weston met in Virginia while studying and got discovered by EPMD at a local talent show. That resulted in a record deal! Although EPMD executive produced the album, most of the beats were actually handled by themselves and close friends who originally worked on their demo. The whole thing is extra fat, funky and booming! It soon went platinum on the strength of the first singles and is considered an essential bonafide classic by many Hip Hop fanatics!
