For a bit of history, Femi’s father, Fela Kuti created in Shrine in 1970, and just seven years later, it was burnt down by the African government. In October 2000, on the third anniversary of Fela’s death, Femi opened The New Afrika Shrine in celebration and in honor of his father’s memory. Femi has locked himself in the studio to record a new original album that he will share with his elder son Made. A first EP and video will see the light of day in the Spring of 2020 and the full the album will be released in falls on Partisan Records.
