#30thAnniversary – Lords of the Underground “Here Come the Lords”

“Here Come the Lords” is the debut album from DoItAll, Mr. Funke and DJ Lord Jazz aka the Lords of the Underground. Produced by the extraordinary duo of Marley Marl and K-Def, the LP is a banging funky affair from top to bottom, especially the excellent singles “Funky Child” and “Chief Rocka”. Even if 1993 is jam packed with classic Hip Hop albums, you can easily place this one in your top five. The critical reception of the project was really good, but they ended up selling a fair share of copies also, reaching to #66 on the Billboard 200 and #13 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

Jump back in this classic, listen to the full album on your favorite platform, watch all the videos, listen to remixes from the 12″ singles (including one from producer extraordinaire Pete Rock) and enjoy another unmissable piece of Hip Hop history.
