#30thAnniversary – Dream Warriors “And Now the Legacy Begins”

Out of Toronto, Canada, King Lou and Capital Q formed the duo known as Dream Warriors. Their first album “And Now the Legacy Begins” was really well received locally, but also across the ocean all over Europe, thanks to the single “My Definition of a Boombastic Jazz Style” (FYI, the Quincy Jones sample in that track was already used by a TV game show in Canada, but Austin Power wasn’t out yet!). Far from bad, the project received a lot of great reviews and charted particularly well in the UK. But the real gems around that album needs to be dug out of the 12 inch vinyls, with b-sides and remixes that tops easily the best songs of the LP. Lucky for you, you can find most of those tunes below. (The Gang Starr remix of “I Lost My Ignorance (And Don’t Know Where To Find It)” is INCREDIBLE!) If you are a fan of early De La Soul stuff, you will probably enjoy the Dream Warriors sound.
