Rounds are a British trio consisting of Robert Cooper (Vocals and Synths), Andrew Chapman (Guitar and Synths), and Ashley Kemp (Drums and Sampler).
Their debut EP Escapist, came out on Austrian label Moun10 in July 2012, receiving excellent reviews right across the music press/blogosphere as well as hitting the Number 7 spot in XLR8R’s Top 20 Downloads of July.
Their latest EP ‘Falter’ on new London-based alternative/electronic label Blind Colour showcases a richer and more accessible set of songs that develop and reveal themselves over repeat listens. But you won’t find stylised gloomy posturing here, rather a fusion of The Cure/Radiohead-esque melodic pop/alternative rock, the experimental bass music of Burial or Mount Kimbie and ambient/deep house laced with glitch, Warp-inspired electronic soul born from a huge range of influences. The release also features a remix from Nottingham’s talented up-and-coming electronic act Atlas (Coja/Symbols Recordings).
