Recycled Funk Episode 30 (4 Da Luv of Reggae)

Recycled Funk is back with some island flava’s to satisfy your music needs, if what you need is more Reggae in your life. During the height of the pandemic social lockdown, I spent plenty of time vibing out to tons of classic Reggae gems. It’s always been one of my “feel good” genres. There are so many classic Reggae tunes I can put on and I’ll instantly feel good or better about things. The rhythms, the production, the lyrics & singing, just the overall vibe hits a sweet spot for me! There’s a lot to appreciate in a good classic Reggae tune! With the recent passing of the great and legendary Lee “Scratch” Perry, I felt an urge to put together a mix of some of my favorite classic Reggae tunes, and that’s exactly what I did and now I’m here to share it with everyone. Perry is a monumental figure in the Reggae world. Folks like him and Scientist are largely responsible for how Reggae music sounds, back then and today. This is not a mix of all things touched by Perry in some way, but a celebration of the genre, the sound, of which he is a big part of. Of course there are a few tunes featured here that he himself either wrote, produced, is featured on, or all of the above. If classic Reggae is not your cup of tea, I feel bad for your soul! Haha! But seriously, I hope you enjoy these jams as much as I do. Stay safe & healthy out here!
