#30thAnniversary – The Notorious B.I.G. ‘Ready To Die’
Ready to Die revolutionized East Coast rap during the gangsta era, establishing the Notorious B.I.G. as a major force and bringing Bad Boy Records into the limelight. This debut album is now considered a classic, thanks to Biggie’s ability to craft vivid narratives with clever rhymes and a natural flow that allows him to deliver lyrics effortlessly. Darker themes are balanced with reflections on street life, particularly in tracks like “Things Done Changed” and “Everyday Struggle,” which delve into the struggles and despair of Biggie’s world. On the lighter side, tracks such as “Juicy” and “Big Poppa” offer a more radio-friendly vibe and have since become party-starting, bona fide classics.
