#30thAnniversary – Ed O.G & Da Bulldogs “Roxbury 02119”

After the celebrated first LP “Life of a Kid in the Ghetto“, Ed O.G came back a couple of years later with another sharp album titled “Roxbury 02119”. Despite the brilliant production by Joe Mansfield and the legendary Diamond D, and solid work on the mic from the Boston rhymesayer, the record didn’t do great on the charts which led to Mercury Records dropping the group not long after the release. The LP became an obscurity over the years but has a lot of replay value and definitely deserves a new spin 30 years later (it was reissued in 2022 by the great 90s Tapes label). So jump back in the record below, watch the videos, listen to a couple of b-sides from the “Love Comes and Goes” 12 inch single (with a track produced by RZA), dig in the samples to create this LP on whosampled.com and share the word about this lost piece of gem!
