A Tribute to D’Angelo Volume 1 – The Collaborations

RIP D’Angelo

On the morning of October 14, 2025, at the age of 51, we lost one of the greatest musicians of all time, Michael Eugene Archer, better known to the world as D’Angelo. He was one of my favorite artists, a once-in-a-generation talent who embodied the spirit of Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, Al Green, and Prince all in one.

Every time one of my musical heroes passes away, I think about creating a tribute. After taking a few days to process the news and a few weeks to revisit the body of work, I noticed that countless others had already shared their own mixes, playlists, and reflections. So, I tend to keep my own deep dives to myself.

This time, though, I decided to use the Brooklyn Radio platform to share my appreciation for this genius. This mix series is part of my tribute, with Volume 1 focusing on some of his best collaborations, whether as a singer, producer, musician, or songwriter.

Rest in peace, D’Angelo. Your music will live forever.

– Mr. Dan
