#30thAnniversary – Dred Scott “Breakin’ Combs”

This album is a pure underground classic, plain and simple. Dred Scott is an amazing emcee who talks about personal struggle and societal issues with thought-provoking lyrics and a smooth as butter flow. He is also incredible behind the boards, a combo we rarely see at that level. It’s really hard to explain how someone that talented has released only one project, because “Breakin’ Combs” is jam packed with dope jazzy beats on the same level as the greatest producer of the 90’s. Dred Scott talent as a beatmaker is also displayed on Adriana Evans discography, especially on her classic eponymous debut album, but that’s sadly pretty much all the music that we have from this genius. You can put this joint in your rotation with ATCQ, De La Soul and Digable Planets right now!
