#30thAnniversary – Craig Mack ‘Project: Funk da World’

Craig Mack’s debut studio album, Project: Funk da World, hit the scene in 1994 as one of the early releases from Bad Boy Records. Released just a week after The Notorious B.I.G.’s Ready to Die, the album carved out its place in hip-hop history, powered by the massive hit single “Flava in Ya Ear.” The track became a platinum-selling success and helped the album achieve gold certification by February 1995. The remix of “Flava in Ya Ear” also gained widespread attention, featuring iconic verses from The Notorious B.I.G., Busta Rhymes, Rampage, and LL Cool J, although it wasn’t included on the original album.

Despite its initial success, Project: Funk da World was somewhat overshadowed by the meteoric rise of Biggie, and Craig Mack faded from the spotlight after releasing a lackluster second LP in 1997.
