#30thAnniversary – Scarface “Mr. Scarface Is Back”

After having the biggest hit of his young career a couple of months earlier with the single “Mind playing tricks on me”, taken from the album “We Can’t Be Stopped” by his band the “Geto Boys”, Scarface was already back with a first solo offering for Rap-A-Lot records. He definitely picked up where he left off, describing graphically the life of a drug dealer in the street of Houston. Face was not the first to rhyme about being a gangster, but the way he exposed the psychological effect of living such a life was unprecedented (best example is the poignant “A Minute to Pray and a Second to Die”).
