#30thAnniversary – Digable Planets “Reachin’ (A New Refutation of Time and Space)”

It’s almost impossible to have a stronger debut album than “Reachin’ (A New Refutation of Time and Space)” by Digable Planets. The unique jazzy sound created by Butterfly with the help of his dad’s record collection is the perfect bed for himself, Doodlebug and Ladybug Mecca to lay some of the best verses in Hip Hop history. The chemistry between every emcee, with their smooth flows and clever lyrics, have arguably never been equated by any other band. To top it off, they got a well deserved Grammy Award for best rap performance by a duo or group in 1994 for the smash hit single “Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat)”.
