We've never been THAT blog. You know, the one you keep checking because they have a new story every hour. Yet, we still want to regularly share all the GOOD music with you, that is coming out these days. That's why we introduce you today to the Weekly Digest. It works like this. Over the week we collect the best of the best, the stuff you shouldn't have missed on your other favourite site in the middle of 24 other posts each day. To set things off this week, we got locals El-P, Star Eyes & A-Trak as well as DJ Muggs from Cypress Hill fame, Joker, Emily Wells, Homeboy Sandman, Snoop Lion and a few other treats lined up on the next pages. We hope you enjoy this format and make it your Monday morning news report from now on! http://youtu.be/EN6in-2Cs1U Last week Brooklyn bad boy El-P released the official video for Stay Down off his latest release Cancer 4 Cure. Always good to see twisted visuals for El-P's songs. http://youtu.be/Qr22iCGxDBo I got the pockets in my arms, settin' off smoke alarms, and I eat 'em smokin' hot, cause I got it goin' on! This is how commercials should be made! Snoop Lion (aka Snoop Dogg) reworked his hit "Drop It Like It's Hot" to pay tribute to Hot Pockets. He also enlisted Andy Milonakis and DeStorm to join duties on the mic. Even though this is the most blatant product endorsement you've ever seen, this thing is hot! http://youtu.be/ZPMudGaRKjQ Fool's Gold Boss A-Trak and Zinc shot the official video for their siren-laden raver "Stingray" at London's Notting Hill Carnival. Dancehall star Natalie Storm's vocals turn this into a proper anthem that's already making waves in the club. It's out on October 16 through Fool's Gold and Rinse. http://youtu.be/UamA_OITSvo Joker is back with his latest release on his own Kapsize Records imprint. "Old Era" comes with a cool cartoon video, which dropped last week. "Old Era" is out November 5th. DJ Muggs, legendary DJ, longtime member of Cypress Hill is back. The tune is off the album '12 bit Blues', which was released 17 September 2012 on Ninja Tune. Emily Wells’ acclaimed album Mama was released early last Spring. Last week Mama Remixed dropped and it features the contributions of 13 artists, such as Baths and Kid Koala, adding new dimensions to Wells' sound while keeping the integrity intact. The album 'Mama' is available everywhere - check iTunes & Amazon. Just in time for Halloween, bass queen Star Eyes drops four tracks of emo melodies and kooky samples floating back and forth over big and punchy trouble and bass. Check “Purple Grape” on the post-dubstep tip for the late-night crew. The 'Lost Girls' EP drops on October 30th, and the Trouble & Bass crew will have a release party the same night in Brooklyn with special guest Emalkay. More details on the Facebook Event Page. Ex-boxer, law school drop-out then teacher, Homeboy Sandman emerged onto the hip-hop scene in 2007. 'First Of A Living Breed' is his first LP for Stones Throw and solidifies his reputation in New York's grassroots hip-hop world. Cop it at Stonesthrow, iTunes and other retailers. MC & Producer Tom Dice's first vocal 7" from his forthcoming LP Rhythms Of Dice is big! It reminds of the times when hip hop was still fun and games, you know the times of Spoonie Gee, Jeckyll & Hyde and Soul Sonic Force. This is a limited run vinyl - only 100 copies have been pressed, so grab it directly off Don't Bite Records quickly if you dig it! http://youtu.be/xIHVyjXdhUI S3 are Miles Bonny on voice & flugelhorn and Brenk Sinatra on the beats. Brenk Sinatra from Austria is a bit of a mystical figure. Brenk is one of the most complete European beatmakers. Westcoast Gangsta-rap and grimey Detroit rap are as present in his music as sweet soul from the 60ties + 70ties. He has worked with the likes of Guilty Simpson, King Tee, DJ Premier or MarvWon and produced all of MC Eiht's upcoming full length album „Which Way Iz West“ (Year Round Records). Miles Bonny, the son of Francis Bonny, a professional trumpet player, has been exposed to Jazz, Latin, and Classical music all of his life. Growing up with trumpets around him, he played his first note at age 2. Frequent trips accompanying his father at latin, jazz, and symphony rehearsals allowed him to meet greats such as Tito Puente and Max Roach. His music has recently been covered in many publications including "Scratch" and "Urb" Magazine. Enough talk, just sit back, relax and enjoy the sounds of S3!
